Jose David Puente joined ACERA as the Fiscal Services Officer on June 8, 2026. He brings more than a decade of public pension experience, having spent 12 years at the Imperial County Employees’ Retirement System, where he served in several capacities, most recently as Retirement Financial Officer.

In that role, David managed the annual financial audit, oversaw operations and administrative budgets, and directed investment accounting for a fund with $1.3 billion in assets. His work supported accurate financial reporting, strengthened internal controls, and ensured compliance with public pension standards.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has completed the CALAPRS Management Academy along with multiple public-pension–specific trainings. He brings a commitment to transparency, fiscal stewardship, and continuous improvement to his work at ACERA.
