ACERA’s Office Closed Due to Omicron Variant

News

Due to the extreme transmissibility of the Covid-19 Omicron variant and the steep rise in Covid-19 cases, ACERA’s office will be closed to the public beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2022 and until further notice. This means that ACERA will not be offering in-person Ready-To-Retire Counseling Appointments during the office closure.

Despite this public health setback, ACERA will continue to work to serve members, offering full virtual service. Counseling appointments will continue to be conducted via Zoom and over the phone, which is how 99% of appointments are currently being conducted. Our call center will continue to be open during its normal hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm. We will continue to respond to members emails Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. We continue to hold all retirement planning seminars and Medicare transition seminars as webinars.

ACERA has processed retirements on schedule and made retirement payments on schedule since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, and we will continue to focus on our members’ retirement security as our top priority.

We will continue to monitor the public health situation and provide further updates.
