If you’re an ACERA member enrolled in a medical insurance plan (and probably a prescription drug coverage plan) through OneExchange, you pay a monthly premium for your plan(s) to your insurance company(ies). If you use your coverage to go to the doctor or get a prescription, you may have to pay deductibles or copays to the doctor or pharmacy.
If you are eligible for ACERA’s Medicare Exchange Monthly Medical Allowance (MMA) and are enrolled in a plan through OneExchange, then you can get reimbursed for some or all of your out of pocket premiums, deductibles, and co-pays depending on the balance of your HRA (Health Reimbursement Account) and also depending on how much MMA you’re eligible for.
You can submit reimbursement claim forms as you incur charges throughout the year, or you can submit them later. The deadline to submit claim forms for a plan year is March 31 of the following year. Therefore, claims for charges incurred in 2014 would have to be submitted by March 31, 2015.
To guide you through the process of submitting reimbursement claims, ACERA has produced the flyer Making Your OneExchange Medicare Reimbursements Easier.
Reimbursement forms are available on ACERA’s OneExchange webpage. Please contact OneExchange at 1-866-343-5757 if you have questions about or need help with your reimbursement forms, and a representative there can assist you.
