PG&E has created an alternate website for shutoff news, which includes a potential outage map. ACERA’s office building is not within the outage zone, so we’re anticipating being open on Thursday.

PG&E has planned an emergency public safety power shutoff as the utility company plans to preemptively shut down power to mitigate wildfire risks. This shutoff could affect approximately 600,000 customers across the Bay Area including: Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, San Mateo, and Sonoma Counties. PG&E anticipates this may impact up to 35,000 Alameda County businesses and residences.

At this point, ACERA plans to be open during its regular business hours over the next few days during the potential PG&E shutoffs. ACERA will continue to monitor the situation. Continue to check this page for further updates, especially prior to visiting ACERA’s offices this week.

PG&E’s shutoff event website has been down intermittently, probably because its web servers can’t hand the volume of people currently looking for shutoff information. For more shutoff information, we suggest visiting PG&E’s twitter page where they are posting up-to-date information. The San Francisco Chronicle is currently publishing a shutoff map.
