Supplemental Retirees Benefit Reserve (SRBR)

The Supplemental Retirees Benefit Reserve (SRBR) is a fund administered by the ACERA Board of Retirement to pay additional benefits to eligible ACERA retirees. This fund was established in 1985 when the ACERA Board of Retirement and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors approved the adoption of Section 31618 of the Government Code that establishes the SRBR. The benefits established and funded through the SRBR are not a vested right. All non-vested benefits are subject to modification and/or deletion by the ACERA Board of Retirement and/or the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Refer to the Non-Vested Benefits section for more information. Currently the SRBR pays for the following additional benefits:

• Supplemental Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA)
• Health, Dental and Vision Care
• Medicare Part B Reimbursement Plan (MBRP) - reimburses eligible retirees for their Medicare Part B cost.
• Retiree Death Benefit
• Monthly Medical Allowance (MMA) - reimburses eligible retirees for their health plan premium.
