Dental and Vision Plan

It is very important to understand that health, dental and vision care benefits in retirement are not a vested right (Retiree health care benefits). Coverage for Health care benefits can change because insurance carriers eliminate or change plans or if funds are not available to pay for increasing health care costs.

ACERA also offers dental and vision coverage to retired members and their dependents. Effective February 1, 1999, all retirees are enrolled into a dental and vision plan with premiums 100% paid for by ACERA. The plans offered for dental and vision coverage differ from the active members’ plan. Dental coverage is provided by Delta Dental and vision care will be covered through Vision Service Plan (VSP).
