Open Enrollment

ACERA's annual Open Enrollment period, during the month of November, gives Retirees, eligible dependents, and COBRA participants the opportunity to enroll in or change health, dental, or vision coverage for the following plan year.  Retirees will receive an Open Enrollment mailing each October containing the ACERA Benefits Reference and Open Enrollment Guide, the Annual Retiree Statement, and Open Enrollment forms for health plan enrollment/changes and dental and vision plan enrollment/changes.

The following changes can be made at this time:

• Enrolling in health, dental, or vision plan;

• Adding eligible dependents to the Retiree's health, dental, or vision plan; or

• Change health, dental, or vision plans with ACERA sponsored providers.

Coverage cancellation may occur at any time throughout the year.  However, cancellation requests during Open Enrollment period will be effective February 1st of the following year.
