Medicare Benefit Reimbursement Plan (MBRP)

MBRP is a Medicare reimbursement plan that the Board of Retirement adopted which authorizes full Medicare Part B reimbursement to qualified retired members for their costs which are deducted from their Social Security checks.

To qualify for MBRP, a retiree must:

  • Be eligible for Monthly Medical Allowance benefit
  • Provide proof of enrollment in Medicare Part B
  • Complete and submit the the MBRP application (download the form or contact ACERA for application).

    This benefit is not available for dependents, nor will it reimburse dependent costs.

    NOTE: There is no contribution paid toward health plan premiums for a retiree with less than 10 years of service or for survivors, former spouses, or beneficiaries.
