Latrena Walker, Project and Information Services Manager Latrena Walker manages the Project and Information Services Manager (PRISM) Department, which is comprised of the following units: PC Network Services, Communications Support Services, Business Application Support Services, and Project Information Service. Under her leadership, PRISM is responsible for administering and maintaining a secure and stable information infrastructure and providing technological support, training, and project management guidelines to ACERA staff. Ms. Walker was an early entrant into the digital age; she is a 21-year veteran in the field of computer operations earning her Certificate of Completion in Computer Operations from the Computer Learning Center in 1985. Early work experience included Macy’s Department Store Computer Operations supporting an IBM Mainframe, Wells Fargo Bank in the Network Support Services Unit and I. Magnin Department Store supporting an AS400 environment. Prior to joining ACERA in May 2000, Ms. Walker worked for Union Bank of California managing the Personal Computer and Local Area Network Helpdesk, overseeing first-level support of the Bank’s desktop computers, network servers, and branch support for over 8,000 users. Ms. Walker has completed training in the areas of Project Management, LAN Administration, and Helpdesk Management. She is a member of State Association County Retirement Systems, the International Foundation Education-Benefits-Plan, and the Public Retirement Information Systems Management Organization. A native San Franciscan, she presently resides in Richmond and is the parent of two children.
