Charles F. Conrad , Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Conrad has served as ACERA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 1996.

He is a graduate of California State University at Fresno, where he majored in Business Administration.  He received his Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law and is a member of the California Bar Association. 

He was promoted successively at the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CALPERS) from 1972 to 1988 holding several positions, including Health Plan Officer, Public Agency Coordinator, Director of Governmental Affairs, and Assistant Executive Officer.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Los Angeles County Employees’ Retirement Association (1988-1994), as well as President of the State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS) from 1991 to 1994.

In 1994, he founded Securitas Financial Services in Walnut Creek to provide mortgage and insurance retirement products to the general public.  He served as its CEO before joining ACERA.

Mr. Conrad is the father of five.
