First appointed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to the ACERA Board of Retirement in 2003. Ms. Basgal currently is the chair of the Governance Committee, a member of the Operations and Investment Committees, and sits on the Ad Hoc Actuarial, Bylaws and Evaluation Committees.
Ms. Basgal served as the executive director of the Housing Authority of Alameda County beginning May 1978. She assumed the position of vice president of civic partnership and community initiatives at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in September 2005 and is responsible for the company's $18.6 million charitable contributions program, employee volunteerism for PG&E's 20,000 employees and the community's community engagement programs.
Ms. Basgal is a board member of the University of California Puente Program, and the California Supreme Court Historical Society, where she serves as vice-president.
Ms. Basgal earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Arizona State University and a Master of Social Welfare Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. An Oakland resident for 35 years, Ms. Basgal is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. - Last Modified: 11 / 25 / 2008 |
