Keith Carson
Member of the Board of Supervisors Member Seat 9 Term Expires December 31, 2010 Keith
Carson was appointed to the ACERA Board of Retirement in 2001; he replaced
Wilma Chan as the Alameda County Board of Supervisors member appointed to the
ACERA Board. Mr. Carson currently chairs ACERA’s Operations Committee, is
the Vice chair of the Evaluation Committee and is a member of the Ad Hoc
Governance, Audit, Investment, and By-laws Committees. In 1992, Mr. Carson
was elected to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors on a platform dedicated
to inclusive and accessible government. He represents the 5th District that
includes Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont and large portions of Oakland,
namely West Oakland, North Oakland (Rockridge and Montclair), and portions of
the Fruitvale, Dimond, and San Antonio districts. Supervisor Carson works to
bring together people who have a wealth of talent and creative resources to
address our shared problems within numerous areas, including access to health
care, ending poverty, homelessness, crime, improving business retention, and
addressing the scarcity of jobs in our communities. He has attended the
John F. Kennedy School of Law and earned a Master of Public Administration from
