Elizabeth
Rogers is the chair of the Operations Committee, Vice Chair of the
Governance and Evaluations Committees and a member of the Investment
and Retirees Committees. Ms. Rogers is a 22-year veteran deputy public defender with the Alameda County Public Defenders Office representing individuals charged with offenses from misdemeanors to felonies. In this capacity, she conducts interviews, handles pretrials, motions, preliminary hearings, probation violations, and trials. Ms. Rogers has also worked in the public defender’s civil unit handling probate and conservatorship matters. She earned her Juris Doctorate at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley in Political Science. Ms.
Rogers has volunteered as a family crisis counselor,
for local political candidates, at Children's Hospital benefits, and at
her sons' school. She loves hiking, reading, and
travel. She has traveled alone to Europe
several times and to New Zealand where she
backpacked through the country for 10 weeks. This
Moraga resident hails from the Main Line outside Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Her Mother still lives in the area. She is the
fourth of seven children and has two sons of her
own. Firm believers in adopting pets from
animal shelters, she and her boys have two
unruly dogs and a cat that run the household. |
